As healthcare workers continue to battle COVID-19 from its stressful frontlines, Jimmy Kimmel honored one New York-based ER nurse during Jimmy Kimmel Live Monday with a surprise serenade by Foo Fighters' Dave Grohl.

Trauma nurse TJ Riley is no stranger to the extremities of handling ER patients, including wounds involving a machete, but currently focuses on COVID-19 cases. Riley caught coronavirus as he came face-to-face with sick patients, as well as his husband and parents, but survived. 60% of his coworkers have also been affected by the virus.

Kimmel continued to thank the nurse for his brave services by gifting him $10,000 and then surprising him with a personal serenade by frontman Grohl.

"I feel like I'm having a coronavirus dream," Riley joked as Grohl whipped out his guitar and performed 1997's "Everlong."

Grohl wrapped his performance to TJ with a heartfelt message for the healthcare community: ""T.J. thank you so much for all that you've done for so many people, it's much appreciated."
