Fresh after her victorious Grammy close out, pop star Billie Eilish rolled up to the 2020 Oscars to deliver an emotional rendition of the Beatles' "Yesterday" last night. The 18-year-old sensation performed the Paul McCartney-penned classic during the "In Memoriam" segment.
"Let us remember their lives and their legacy," Steven Spielberg briefly introduced the segment as Eilish and her brother/collaborator Finneas took to the stage. Finneas accompanied his sister on the piano, while Eilish stayed seated as she poured her heart to the iconic ballad.

Images of deceased legends flashed on the screen behind her, including basketball luminary Kobe Bryant, filmmaker Barbara Hammer, costumer designer Bernie Pollack, director/writer Terry Jones, actress Catherine Burns and more.

Released in 1965, "Yesterday" remains one of the Beatles' greatest tracks, from the track being covered by countless modern stars to the song's induction into the Grammy Hall of Fame in 1977.
Eilish joins the historic list of artists who have been enlisted to perform during the Academy Awards' "In Memoriam Segment." Last year, Pearl Jam lead vocalist Eddie Vedder took to the stage with "Room at the Top" while the year before, Foo Fighters frontman Dave Grohl moved crowds with a poignant performance of The Beatles' "Blackbird" in 2016.
