A decade after his passing, Scottish rocker Gerry Rafferty will be honored on Sept. 3 with Rest in Blue, a collection of some of his final recordings and other rarities.
Rest in Blue began in earnest in 2006 but ended when the "Baker Street" singer died of liver failure in 2011. His daughter Martha oversaw the completion of the album, including stripping back layers of synthesizers off of demos (some of which date back to the '70s). Tracks include new single "Slow Down," tunes with hard-hitting lyrical messages like "Still in Denial" and "Lost Highway," covers of folk tunes ("Wild Mountain Thyme," "Dirty Old Town") and even a country version of "Stuck in the Middle with You" - Rafferty's biggest hit with his old band Stealers Wheel - recorded in the '90s.

Several longtime collaborators assisted in the completion of Rest in Blue, including guitarist Hugh Burns and pianist Alan Clark (formerly of Dire Straits). The album sleeve features artwork by legendary comics artist John Byrne.
