As Halloween approaches, so do the chances that you’ll hear Warren Zevon’s biggest and most enduring hit, “Werewolves of London.” It was released as a single on January 18, 1979--the same day as the album Excitable Boy hit store shelves across the country. Featuring both Mick Fleetwood and John McVie of Fleetwood Mac, the song climbed as high as No. 21 on the Hot 100 in May 1979. Over the years, the visceral and emotive track has become a Halloween staple. Give it a spin and howl at the moon below.
