In an interview with Howard Stern, Eddie Van Halen's son Wolfgang revealed plans for a "kitchen sink" tour that would have reunited every member of the band.

Wolfgang, who replaced original bassist Michael Anthony in 2006, sat down with the SiriusXM jockey to share "Distance," a new single dedicated to his father and released under the name Mammoth WVH. He also shared that the family had planned a trek that would have seen not only the return of Anthony but of all three lead singers: David Lee Roth, Sammy Hagar and Gary Cherone. (Rumors had swirled about the original line-up reuniting in 2018 and 2019.)

"I got him excited about it," Wolfgang shared. "And at a certain point it turned into what we joked as the Kitchen Sink tour. 'Cause after he was okay with that arrangement, it was like, 'Fuck, then let's get Dave and Hagar and even Cherone, and let's just do a giant fucking awesome thing.'" Unfortunately, the idea was scuttled at the last minute after Eddie's longtime health troubles worsened, including the treatment of a brain tumor and a lung cancer diagnosis.

The legendary guitarist's son also confirmed the presence of "a shit-ton of tapes that will take a very long time to go through" featuring unreleased work by his father. “That’s not the priority right now," he said. "I can’t put a timeline on it. There will be a time we go through it. Not for the foreseeable future.”
