Legendary Pink Floyd guitarist David Gilmour and his entire family have shared a pair of Leonard Cohen covers. The music came during a special live stream to celebrate the release of his wife Polly Samson's new book, A Theatre for Dreamers.

The couple had planned on embarking on a short "words and music" tour to support the release. With COVID-19 shutting down live events for the time being, the couple and their entire family gathered for an online launch event.

During the live stream, Samson read from her book, which is set on the Greek isle of Hydra in 1960, featuring Leonard Cohen. The family broadcast the moment from a stage set built to look like a 1960 cafe in Hydra. Gilmour plays “Bird On The Wire” (7:46) and “So Long, Marianne” (30:08) during the 36-minute presentation.
