Very sad news in the rock and roll world this week: Steve Holland, founding member of the Jacksonville band Molly Hatchet, has died. Holland was 66 years old. He died Sunday in Brunswick, Ga., of undisclosed causes.

Molly Hatchet formed in Jacksonville, FL, back in 1971. The band hit its commercial zenith in 1979, with the release of second album, Flirtin' with Disaster. The title track was an immediate favorite on rock radio, and still gets plenty of play on classic rock stations around the world. The song peaked at #42 on the Hot 100.
