James Taylor is set to reveal his memoirs in audio form. Instead of writing a book, the music legend will work with the company Audible to create the spoken-word project, Break Shot. It's expected to arrive early next year.
The singer worked with music journalist Bill Flanagan on Break Shot, which will come with musical interludes recorded by Taylor in his Massachusetts home studio. He'll talk about his early life growing up in the Boston area, touching on his troubled childhood that led to him spending some time in a psychiatric hospital.
“I’ve known Bill Flanagan and admired his writing forever. So I was happy and relieved that he had agreed to help me gather my thoughts and edit this autobiography of my beginnings, the on-ramp to the road I’ve traveled ever since,” Taylor said in a press statement. “A pitcher needs a catcher, and a funny and intelligent collaborator can make you seem likewise.”
The release date for Break Shot has yet to be announced.
