#Flashback: Happy Halloween 1978 from the first KISS Action Figures

In 1978, Mego launched the first of countless edition of KISS band action figures. Still riding high on the back of being announced as the most popular band in America by Gallup in 1977, the band and it’s notorious manager Bill Aucoin left no stone unturned when it came to marketing.

Today, those same toys fetch top dollar on the resale circuit. In the years since, countless KISS dolls and action figures have been and continue to be manufactured and sold around the world. Earlier this year, KISS and Mego reconnected to launch a new line of Gene Simmons and Paul Stanley action figures. Watch the original TV commercial hawking the figures to America’s youth below.
