Dave Grohl can now add "storyteller" to his rock 'n' roll resume - literally.

The Foo Fighters frontman and former Nirvana drummer announced his first book, The Storyteller, to be published Oct. 5, 2021. Written during the COVID-19 pandemic and drawn in part from tales he's shared on Instagram over the last year while the Foos have been unable to tour, Grohl describes the book as "a collection of memories of a life lived loud. From my early days growing up in the suburbs of Washington, D.C., to hitting the road at the age of 18, and all the music that followed."

A press release from publisher Dey Street Books promises "spectacular stories about Nirvana, Foo Fighters, David Bowie, Joan Jett, Iggy Pop, Paul McCartney, playing drums for Tom Petty on Saturday Night Live, performing at the White House, and even swing dancing with AC/DC."

While the Foo Fighters had to post a 25th anniversary tour in 2020, they still issued their 10th album, Medicine At Midnight, in February 2021. They're also up for induction into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in their first year of eligibility.
