The Replacements have been revived - in pencil-style animated form - for a new video for "Shutup," a fast-paced track from their soon-to-be-reissued debut album Sorry Ma, Forgot to Take Out the Trash.

As the second-to-last track on the 1981 album, "Shutup" is a raw self-skewer, addressing frontman Paul Westerberg's apathy and the band's artful incompetence ("Tommy's too young / Bobby's too drunk / I only shout one note / Chris needs a watch to keep time / we'll never find time to vote"). The animation by Pat Moriarity and Seth Zeichner adds to the down 'n' dirty zine feel of the music, with some cool references for eagle-eyed fans, from a sleeveless tee bearing the name of Minneapolis punk progenitors The Suicide Commandos to Chris Mars' bass drum head bearing the name "Dogbreath," the first band name Westerberg, Mars and Bob and Tommy Stinson performed under.
The deluxe Sorry Ma, due out Oct. 22, will feature three bonus CDs featuring demos, outtakes, alternate mixes and a previously unreleased live performance, plus a vinyl record culling the best of the alternate takes into a second version of the original album.
