Record Store Day is back, and it's bringing Lonnie Jordan and classic War along for the ride. War's smash 1976 hits collection, War Greatest Hits, is being reissued on special gold vinyl this Friday, November 27, 2020. Which, coincidentally, is also Black Friday.
When War Greatest Hits first arrived back in the day, packed with radio classics including "Low Rider," "Why Can't We Be Friends?" and "Slippin' Into Darkness," music fans snapped up enough copies to send the LP soaring up the Billboard 200 to peak at #6 for the week of September 25, 1976. The #1 album in the country that week: Peter Frampton's blockbuster Frampton Comes Alive.
The gold vinyl version that lands on Record Store Day has been faithfully replicated from the original release, with audio mastered from the original master tapes. The release is limited to just 3000 copies. Act accordingly!
