The only good kind of War out there might be the long-running American funk-rock band - and this week, two key members of the group are on The Rhino Podcast to talk about the group's ongoing history.

Lonnie Jordan - War's founding frontman - and longtime producer Jerry Goldstein join the podcast to talk about War's half-century of entertainment, from their time collaborating with British singer Eric Burdon to their dizzying run of hits on their own in the '70s, including smashes like "Low Rider," "Why Can't We Be Friends," "The Cisco Kid," "The World is a Ghetto," "Me and Baby Brother" and more.

Five decades on, War remain an exciting concern for music lovers and collectors: on July 17, they'll release The Vinyl: 1971-1975, a limited edition color vinyl box set featuring the five albums they released after parting ways with Burdon. It'll be available exclusively at all Record Store Day-participating stores.
