Muse will celebrate the 20th anniversary of their second album Origin of Symmetry with a brand-new remix of the entire album.

The album, released in the summer of 2001, helped the band break further into the charts in their native England, earning a Top 5 album and the hits "Plug In Baby" and "New Born." The new XX Anniversary RemiXX, created by the band's longtime collaborator Rich Costey, offers a "more open, dynamic and less crushed sound," with the inclusion of certain instrumentations not heard on the original album. The Japanese bonus track "Futurism" will also be reinstated into the album, between final tracks "Feeling Good" and "Megalomania."

"In revisiting the album what we found was the original mixes on the singles, like ‘Plug In Baby’ and ‘Bliss,' were pretty good so they were the hardest ones to improve," frontman Matt Bellamy said in a statement. "It was the deeper album tracks like ‘Micro Cuts’ where we were able to make massive breakthroughs."

The reimagined Origin of Symmetry will also feature artwork by designer Sujin Kim that reinvents the original album sleeve by designer William Eager. The remix is released digitally on June 18, with multiple vinyl pressings to follow on July 9, including black vinyl as well as translucent yellow and orange vinyl.
