Marillion to Remix, Expand 'Fugazi'

Prog-rockers Marillion will remix, expand and reissue their sophomore album Fugazi this fall.

The package, available Sept. 10 as a 4LP vinyl box set or a 3CD/Blu-ray combo, features a new stereo mix of the album by Andy Bradfield and Avril Mackintosh (who also remixed debut Script for a Jester's Tear and fourth album Clutching At Straws for previous releases) plus audio from a 1984 live concert at The Spectrum in Montreal, Canada. (Portions of this set were previously released on the live album Real to Reel in 1984.) The Blu-ray adds 5.1 surround mixes of the original album, high-resolution stereo mixes of the live concert and additional bonus material, plus video content including a new documentary, track-by-track commentary on the album, and the original music video for the single "Assassing."

As something of a streamlined, straightforward rock approach from Script for a Jester's Tear - and with a new drummer, Ian Mosley, replacing original percussionist Mick Pointer - Fugazi found Marillion enjoying even greater success in their native England, notching their second of eight consecutive Top 10 albums. Singles "Punch and Judy" and "Assassing" were both U.K. Top 40 hits, a dramatic teaser of sorts for the wider chart success the band enjoyed with 1985's Misplaced Childhood.
