The fifth in a series of "Era" box sets by David Bowie will be released this fall.
Thus far, only the title has been announced: Brilliant Adventures (1992-2001). Based on its chronological detail, it will be expected to include the albums Black Tie White Noise (a 1993 reunion with Let's Dance producer Nile Rodgers), 1. Outside (a 1995 reunion with producer Brian Eno), Earthling (1997) and 'hours...' (1999).
It is rumored - and the ending year would suggest this - that the box will also include Toy, an unreleased album recorded in 2001 that featured Bowie revisiting some of his earliest '60s compositions. (A companion box set, Brilliant Live Adventures (1995-1999), was released in installments across 2020 and 2021.)
The news comes as part of the announcement of a "landmark, career-spanning partnership" between the late singer's estate and Warner Music Group, the label that's distributed most of Bowie's albums through the Parlophone label. Under the new agreement, all of Bowie's recorded repertoire will be handled by the label starting in 2023, including the latter-day albums Heathen (2002), Reality (2003), The Next Day (2013) and the landmark ★, released the week before his passing in 2016.
