The way Joe Walsh tells it, "Rocky Mountain Way" saved his life. The breakout single from his 1973 full-length, The Smoker You Drink, The Player You Get, it was the moment that would firmly establish the notorious party legend as a major player in the world of rock.
Walsh connected with AC/DC frontman Brian Johnson for a trip to the legendary club Whisky A Go Go on the Sunset Strip in Hollywood to reminisce about his time in the then-nascent Southern California music scene. The two legends came together for an episode of Johnson's stellar AXS TV show, A Life on the Road. It was at the Whisky where Walsh would first meet manager Irving Azoff, who would helm his career in the mid-'70s.

"This whole Southern California community of artists before anybody made it was full of creative energy," Walsh remembers in the trailer for this weekend's episode. "The Eagles were guys that got focused during a very artistically creative environment and period. You can't make that. That just happens."
