It's official: The Doobie Brothers are in the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame. The legendary San Jose band kicked off this year's annual Rock Hall Induction Special with Michael McDonald, Tom Johnston and Patrick Simmons all sharing their heartfelt thanks for the honor.

Across the three speeches, the true breadth of the band's music over was the years was readily apparent. Starting out as a hardcore biker band, The Doobie Brothers' evolved over the years to such a degree that they're known by a generation for a legendary appearance on popular '70s sitcom, What's Happening!!
