With Live Nation and Ticketmaster currently embroiled in a very public controversy over concert tickets and refunds (or a lack thereof) in light of the current coronavirus, rival AEG is making a savvy business move: fans holding tickets for shows that have been rescheduled will have a 30-day window to get full refunds. That 30-day window begins on May 1, 2020.

According to a document from AEG circulated to talent agents this week, the refunds will be offered for concerts that were postponed once the pandemic shuttered live music last month, and have been given new dates (via New York Times). As such, that means fans holding tickets to shows that have been delayed but not rescheduled will have to wait.
While fans holding tickets sold by Live Nation/Ticketmaster wait to hear if the company will follow suit, they said in a statement: “Live Nation’s plan is to continue offering an opportunity for refunds on all of its rescheduled shows as new dates are set. We anticipate those windows will begin to open up on an event by event basis in the next few weeks.”
